Ed Moss, a former publisher of the San Diego Union-Tribune, was named president and CEO of The Denver Post on Friday. He takes over Feb. 20.

Moss also was named an executive vice president of New York-based Digital First Media, the company that manages Post publisher MediaNews Group Inc. Moss will oversee MediaNews Group’s operations in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.
